Winston Manor is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate Activity Director to lead our Activities Department. The Activities Director is responsible for developing and overseeing engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic programming that supports residents’ interests, abilities, independence, and overall quality of life.
This position is ideal for someone who is creative, energetic, organized, and passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for resident engagement in an Intermediate Care Facility environment.

Plan, develop, coordinate, and oversee the facility’s resident activity program
Develop monthly activity calendars based on resident interests, abilities, and needs
Organize recreational, social, educational, cultural, and therapeutic activities
Coordinate holiday celebrations, special events, outings, entertainment, games, crafts, music, and other resident programs
Encourage resident participation and provide opportunities for both group and individual activities
Develop programming appropriate for residents with varying abilities, interests, and levels of participation
Supervise, schedule, train, and provide direction to Activities Department staff
Complete resident activity assessments and contribute to individualized care planning
Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and collaborate with other departments regarding resident needs
Maintain accurate and timely activity documentation, participation records, calendars, and other required records
Monitor resident participation and adjust programming based on resident interests and needs
Obtain resident feedback and identify opportunities to improve programming
Coordinate community resources, volunteers, entertainers, and outside organizations as appropriate
Manage activity supplies and assist with maintaining the department budget
Promote resident rights, choice, independence, dignity, and quality of life
Collaborate with nursing, Social Services, behavioral health, dietary, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
Participate in facility meetings, quality improvement initiatives, surveys, and regulatory reviews as required
Ensure Activities Department practices comply with facility policies and applicable requirements
Perform additional Activities Department responsibilities as assigned
Education and experience appropriate for Activities Department leadership in a long-term care or ICF setting
Previous activities, recreation, healthcare, behavioral health, or long-term care experience preferred
Previous supervisory or department leadership experience preferred
Creative, energetic, compassionate, and comfortable engaging residents individually and in groups
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills
Ability to develop and coordinate a variety of resident-centered programs
Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
Ability to supervise, motivate, and provide direction to Activities staff
Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, staff, families, and the interdisciplinary team
Dependable, professional, and committed to resident quality of life
Must meet applicable health and background requirements
Full-time leadership position
Schedule may vary based on resident programming and facility needs
Weekend, evening, and holiday availability may be required for resident activities and special events
