Receptionist - Temporary Part Time

Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is the 201-bed Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences), our Certified Home Health Agency, and our Independent Living Community (Fountaingate Gardens). Our Gurwin Licensed Home Care Services Agency has an office on our campus.

We are currently seeking a temporary part-time Receptionist.  A candidate with the ability to cover:

Thursdays and Fridays - 7:00a.m. - 3:00p.m.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous receptionist experience preferred.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and ability to use general computer system.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

• Greet all visitors and monitor that they sign in and out of the building according to established procedures.

• Monitor the residents as it relates to their coming and going form the building

• Answer calls from resident’s rooms and deal with requests or concerns

• Answer all incoming calls and extend to the person requested

• Take messages as necessary and follow-up.

• Make overhead announcements.

• Sort and deliver daily mail.

• Perform duties in a safe manner.

• Demonstrate an attitude of cooperation and professionalism when dealing with peers and supervisors.

• Adhere to all aspects of Customer Service, some examples include the following: working together, showing empathy, courteous communication, respect for others.

• Perform other related duties as required.
