What changes for you

Spouses and adult children in the Foothills already do this work for free. Arizona's long term care program (ALTCS through AHCCCS) can pay a husband, wife, son, daughter, or other relative to be the caregiver, and SYNERGY HomeCare of Yuma is the employer that makes it official: a W-2 paycheck at $18.25 an hour for care you provide in Fortuna Foothills or east Yuma.

Where you might be starting from

Some people come to us already paid through another agency and want an office in the Foothills that knows the program; experienced ALTCS caregivers are welcome, and we take care of the transfer paperwork. Some have a relative on ALTCS and have never been paid a dollar for the care; they can be hired. Some are not sure their relative qualifies at all; they should apply anyway, because our case managers sit down with Foothills families, check eligibility, and help with the application at no cost.

A typical week

Mornings are usually bathing and dressing, then breakfast and medications. Later in the day it is lunch, light housekeeping, and time together. Everything follows the care plan the health plan approves, and the hours follow that plan. You record each visit in our mobile app, which takes about a minute.

Pay and benefits

$18.25 per hour as a W-2 employee. Paid sick time. Medical, dental, and vision plans for eligible employees. Direct Care Worker training provided, whether or not you have ever been certified. A Foothills office on Payson Drive with people who know ALTCS inside out. Locally owned since 2013, voted Yuma's Best ten years running.

To qualify

Be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States, pass a background check, complete onboarding and training, and follow the care plan and document each visit.
