Family Member Paid Caregiver

Who can be hired?

Anyone in Somerton, Gadsden, or the south county who takes care of their mom, dad, husband, wife, grandparent, or another relative who has ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care through AHCCCS), or who could qualify for it. If you are already paid for that care through another agency, experienced ALTCS caregivers are welcome here; ask us how your family member's care can be set up with SYNERGY HomeCare of Yuma. If nobody is paying you today, you can be hired and paid for the care you already give.

What if my relative does not have ALTCS yet?

Apply anyway. Our case managers help Somerton families check eligibility and get the application in, at no cost. We do this every week.

How much, and what hours?

$18.25 per hour as a W-2 employee. Your hours follow the care plan ALTCS authorizes for your family member, full time or part time.

What about training?

We provide the required Direct Care Worker training. Your experience caring for your own loved one counts, and no prior certification is needed.

What does the work include?

Helping your relative shower and get dressed, cooking, keeping the house in order, keeping track of their medicine times, driving them to the doctor and the store, keeping them company, and letting the office know when something about their health changes. Each visit takes about a minute to record on your phone.

What else comes with the job?

Paid sick time. Medical, dental, and vision for eligible employees. A local Somerton office that answers in English and Spanish. Locally owned since 2013 and voted Yuma's Best ten years in a row.

Requirements

You must be at least 18, legally able to work in the United States, and able to clear a background check. We ask you to finish our onboarding and training and to stick to the authorized care plan and record the care you give.
