What You’ll Do

• Vacuum, dust, mop, wax, and polish floors on routine and deep-cleaning schedules

• Wash windows and clean light fixtures on a regular rotation

• Clean and sanitize wheelchairs, shower chairs, barrels, and other equipment

• Empty and reline waste containers and dispose of contents properly

• Keep building entrances and the dumpster area clean daily (lids closed)

• Clean and organize janitor closets and buckets, and keep chemicals secured

• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff

• Report needed repairs promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor

• Respond appropriately during emergencies and attend in-services and staff meetings

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required

• Janitorial experience in long-term care or an institutional setting preferred

• Ability to read and follow cleaning procedures, labels, and safety information in English

• Basic math for measuring and mixing cleaning solutions

• Friendly, respectful communication with residents, families, and staff

• Respect for resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and bend, squat, twist, and reach throughout the shift

• Annual TB screening and physical exam, per facility policy
