Floor Tech

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in resident rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas

• Infection control: Follow proper disinfection procedures, use PPE, and adhere to healthcare infection prevention guidelines

• Room turnover: Clean and disinfect discharged rooms promptly for new admissions

• Maintenance: Inspect floors for damage, report repairs, and assist with minor maintenance tasks

• Equipment use: Operate floor buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning equipment per manufacturer guidelines

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare or housekeeping experience preferred

• Skills: Ability to read/write basic instructions, operate cleaning equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varied conditions

• Attributes: Patient, courteous, reliable, and able to follow safety and infection control protocols

Working Conditions

• Physical: Prolonged standing/walking, bending, lifting, repetitive motions, exposure to chemicals and infectious environments

• Environment: Indoor facility with potential for odors, temperature extremes, and noise
