Responsibilities:

• Deliver Compassionate Resident Care:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility

  • Support residents during mealtimes, recreational activities, and daily routines, ensuring comfort and dignity

  • Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights, ensuring safety and attentiveness at all times

• Support a Safe & Healthy Environment:

  • Assist with transferring and positioning residents, using proper safety techniques

  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks

  • Monitor residents' health and behavior, and report any changes or concerns to nursing or leadership staff

• Promote Engagement & Well-Being:

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with residents and families

  • Encourage resident participation in social and wellness activities to enhance quality of life

  • Uphold the mission, values, and care standards of Whispering Oak Place in all interactions

• Collaborate with Team Members:

  • Work alongside nurses, dining, and life enrichment staff to coordinate and deliver holistic care

  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on care practices and community updates

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or personal care assistant preferred, but not required

• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training upon hire

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and team members

• Ability to provide care with kindness, patience, and respect for residents' dignity and independence

• Dependable and flexible with shift availability (including weekends or holidays as needed)

• Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and move throughout the shift

• Ability to assist with resident transfers and physical support using proper techniques
