Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Vascular Centers of America in Chicago, IL. As a Cath Lab RN, you will provide procedural nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology environment during vascular procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide procedural nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology environment during vascular procedures
• Prepare patients for procedures, including assessments, IV placement, and patient education
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation during procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Provide post-procedure Recovery/PACU care, including recovery monitoring, discharge education, and patient documentation
• Collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and other clinical team members to ensure seamless patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities
• Adhere to all infection control, safety, and procedural protocols within the outpatient procedure lab

Schedule:

• This is a flexible and per diem role which emphasizes work-life balance
• Minimum requirement of 2-3 shifts per month
• Weekends and weekday shifts available
• Shifts typically run approximately 12 hours

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Illinois state
• Sedation Experience required
• Previous experience in a cath lab or ER/ICU setting
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort
