Join Kindly Direct Care, a New Jersey preferred DDD agency, and help empower adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live more independently. As a Community Companion, you will provide one-to-one support to a high-functioning adult with developmental disabilities in Mays Landing, NJ.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to provide companionship, support, and encouragement to a high-functioning adult with developmental disabilities. This individual is looking for a consistent Community Companion who can help them get out into the community, participate in daily activities, and encourage greater independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support

• Help the individual participate in the community, including errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, and other community activities

• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills

• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan

• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case

• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions

• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team

Requirements

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship

• Able to reliably work the posted schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings

• Valid driver's license

• Reliable vehicle

• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment

Pay and Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate: $17-$21/hour

• Part-time schedule with opportunities for growth and development
