Pay: $21.00 per hour

Job description:

Rocky Mountain Assisted Living is looking for a part-time activities coordinator. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

JOB SUMMARY:

A person specifically trained and competent to provide ongoing program of activities to meet physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of Rocky Mountain Assisted Living residents under the direction, instruction and supervision of Rocky Mountain Assisted Living Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the elderly

• Ability to carry our written and verbal directions and to read and write.

• 18 years of age or older

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience in providing care to the elderly

• Certificate in therapeutic recreation or activities in a plus

• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to maintain composure and be resourceful in stressful situations.

• Willingness to accept constructive criticism and the ideas and advice of others.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to be efficient.

• Ability to meet deadlines.

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to motivate residents and staff. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans monthly activity calendar for the designated home(s), ensuring all

residents’ physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial needs are being met. 

Activities should include but not be limited to:

• Group and one-on-one social activities

• Indoor and outdoor activities

• Community outings

• Spiritual programs geared toward current residents’ faiths

• Creative activities such as arts, crafts, music and drama

• Musical activities such as sing-a-longs and hired entertainers
