LIVE-IN CAREGIVER – 3 OR 4 CONSECUTIVE DAYS

IMPORTANT: THIS IS A LIVE-IN POSITION. You must stay overnight in the clients' home for either 3 or 4 consecutive days. This is NOT a traditional hourly or daytime-only position.

Position Overview:

CareBuilders at Home is seeking two experienced, compassionate, and dependable LIVE-IN caregivers to support a lovely family and provide care for a senior couple in their private home.

The primary client is an elderly woman recently diagnosed with dementia who also experiences mobility challenges. Her husband is independent and requires assistance only with putting on his socks and shoes. Meals should be prepared for both clients.

The household also has a small, hypoallergenic dog that requires walking.

We are seeking caregivers who are patient, attentive, experienced with dementia care, comfortable with pets, and committed to maintaining the dignity, comfort, and independence of seniors.

LIVE-IN Schedule & Compensation

• Position 1: 3 consecutive days and nights per week.

• Position 2: 4 consecutive days and nights per week.

• Pay: $160–$180 per day, based on experience.

• Eight-hour designated overnight sleep period with private sleeping accommodations.

• Two one-hour, uninterrupted, off-duty breaks daily, during which caregivers may leave the home.

• Consistent, ongoing assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist primary client with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.

• Provide physical support for primary client with walking, transfers (bed to wheelchair/chair), fall prevention, and safe use of mobility aids.

• Offer dementia-sensitive companionship, reassurance, and supervision.

• Assist husband with putting on his socks and shoes.

• Prepare nutritious meals for both clients.

• Walk the family's small dog and assist with basic pet care as needed.

• Perform light household chores, including laundry, changing bed linens, washing dishes, and keeping living areas clean and hazard-free.

• Track medication schedules, provide medication reminders, and monitor for side effects.

• Transportation to appointments and errand running.

• Companionship & Engagement: Offer meaningful conversation, cognitive stimulation, and emotional support to combat isolation.

• Observe physical or behavioral shifts, maintain daily care logs, and communicate updates to family members or healthcare providers.

• Maintain professional communication with family and CareBuilders at Home management.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in live-in caregiving or extended-shift senior care strongly preferred.

• Experience supporting individuals with dementia and mobility limitations.

• Knowledge of safe transfers, fall prevention, and personal care.

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

• Reliable personal vehicle available for transportation and errands.

• Proof of current automobile insurance.

• Ability to pass required criminal background checks.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Must be comfortable around dogs and willing to walk a small dog.

• Compassionate, patient, reliable, and respectful.

• Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent routine.

• CNA certification is a plus, but not required.
