We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Nurse to join our team at Carrie Elligson Gietner Health Care Center, a 130-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in St. Louis, MO. About the Role

As a Wound Nurse at Carrie Elligson Gietner Health Care Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality wound care to our patients. This includes assessing patient wounds, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary care team to ensure the best possible outcomes. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families on wound care techniques and providing emotional support to help them cope with their condition.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient wounds and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team

• Implement and monitor wound care treatment plans, including debridement, dressing changes, and compression therapy

• Provide patient education on wound care techniques and self-care methods to promote wound healing and prevent complications

• Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with complex wounds

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including wound assessments, treatments, and progress notes

• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences to discuss patient progress and develop treatment plans

• Demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with patients and their families

Requirements

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Missouri

• Experience in wound care, preferably in a skilled nursing facility setting

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

• Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients as necessary
