Home Care Operations Manager

Rockaway Home Care is seeking an experienced, organized, and proactive Home Care Operations Manager to join our management team and work full-time from a home care office we support in Oneonta, NY. Rockaway provides centralized management, administrative, and operational support to home care organizations. While many corporate functions are handled centrally, we believe there is significant value in having a member of the management team physically present within the local office.

This is an in-office administrative and operational management position. You will work collaboratively with the office's existing clinical and departmental leadership. This role is closely involved in the day-to-day operations of the office, helping employees and department leaders navigate operational needs, coordinating with corporate departments, facilitating communication and decision-making, and following matters through from question to resolution.

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable both managing and being hands-on. This is not a role for someone who simply delegates or forwards issues to another department. The right candidate should be willing to step in, work alongside the team, help during busy periods, and assist wherever needed to keep the office operating effectively.

What You'll Do

As a Home Care Operations Manager, you will serve as an important link between the Oneonta office and the corporate team, helping ensure that questions, needs, and operational matters reach the right people and continue moving toward resolution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as an on-site member of Rockaway's management team at the Oneonta office.

  • Act as a direct connection between the local office and corporate management.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the day-to-day activities, priorities, and needs of the office.

  • Work closely with local leadership, department heads, and staff to help keep operations running smoothly.

  • Assist employees and department leaders in obtaining decisions, answers, and resources from the appropriate corporate team.

  • Help move operational questions and issues through the decision-making process efficiently.

  • Gather information needed by corporate management to evaluate questions and make informed decisions.

  • Follow up on open items, projects, requests, and management initiatives to help ensure they continue moving forward.

  • Coordinate communication between the local office and centralized departments.

  • Help implement new processes, procedures, systems, and corporate initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, communication, and office efficiency.

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative and office management needs.

  • Provide operational guidance and support to office employees.

  • Help communicate company policies, procedures, priorities, and operational updates.

  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, intake, recruitment, administrative work, or other operational needs when additional support is required.

  • Step in and work alongside staff during busy periods or when coverage is needed.

  • Help coordinate matters involving multiple departments and ensure the appropriate people remain informed.

  • Maintain a professional, organized, and collaborative office environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in home care, healthcare operations, healthcare administration, office management, branch management, or a similar operational leadership role.

  • Home care industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience supervising, coordinating, or supporting an office team.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and open items simultaneously.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, department leaders, and senior management.

  • Comfortable working across multiple departments and coordinating between different teams.

  • Strong computer skills and comfort learning new systems.

  • Ability to handle workplace matters professionally and discreetly.

  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.

  • Comfortable stepping outside of a narrowly defined job function when the office needs support.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $65,000–$95,000 per year, based on experience

  • Full-time, in-office position

  • Paid time off

  • Sick days

  • Paid legal holidays

  • Health insurance offered

  • Dental insurance offered

  • Vision insurance offered

Is This the Right Role for You?

This position is ideal for an organized, proactive professional with home care, healthcare administration, or office management experience who thrives on a blend of local relationship-building and corporate coordination.

If you are looking for a hands-on, office-based leadership role where you can see the big picture while stepping in to help your team with the daily details, we encourage you to apply.
