A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility on Long Island is seeking an experienced Director of Housekeeping to oversee the daily operations of its housekeeping department. The ideal candidate will have experience managing housekeeping staff in a long-term care or healthcare setting and ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department.

• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate housekeeping personnel and daily work assignments.

• Monitor staffing levels and manage departmental staffing hours.

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, standards, and guidelines governing housekeeping in long-term care facilities.

• Implement and maintain departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

• Ensure compliance with patient rights, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.

• Identify additional cleaning needs and adjust schedules and assignments accordingly.

• Conduct daily rounds to ensure housekeeping staff are completing assigned duties and maintaining facility cleanliness.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility.
