Dietary Aide

Job Title: Dietary Aide/ Dishwasher 

Location: Columbus, NE 

Department: Dietary/Nutrition 

Reports to: Dietary Manager or Food Service Director 

Position Type: Full Time 8am-4pm with every other weekend

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team at Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus. As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness of dishes and kitchen for our residents in a skilled nursing facility. Your responsibilities will include assisting with serving food, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and washing dishes.

Responsibilities:

• Serve meals and beverages to residents in a timely and courteous manner

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety protocols

• Perform regular cleaning of work areas, utensils, and equipment

• Report any changes in residents' conditions or concerns to the nursing staff or supervisor in a timely manner

• Assist with inventory control by checking and storing food supplies

• Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner

• Work closely with other dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless meal service and address any resident needs

• Follow all facility policies, health regulations, and safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus, but not required

• On-the-job training will be provided

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, and capability to handle hot and cold food items

Skills:

• Basic understanding of food preparation and safety procedures

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality
