Prep Cook

CareCore at Mentor is seeking a dependable and motivated Prep Cook to join our Dietary Services team! We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment, takes pride in preparing quality meals, and is passionate about providing excellent service to our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily food preparation, including washing, chopping, portioning, and preparing ingredients.

• Prepare meals and food items according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.

• Assist cooks with meal preparation and service to ensure meals are served accurately and on time.

• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.

• Assist with stocking, labeling, rotating, and storing food supplies.

• Follow modified diet and texture requirements as directed.

• Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure a positive dining experience for residents.

• Perform additional dietary duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous food preparation or kitchen experience preferred.

• Experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing facility is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.

• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and dietary guidelines.

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

• Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing quality service.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with kitchen work.
