Thrift Associate

What You'll Do

As a Thrift Associate, you'll help create a welcoming shopping experience while supporting the daily operations of our thrift store.

Your Responsibilities

Create an Inviting Store Environment

• Price, stock, and merchandise donated items

• Design attractive displays that encourage sales

• Keep the sales floor organized and appealing

Deliver Exceptional Customer Service

• Welcome customers with a friendly attitude

• Answer questions and assist shoppers

• Share the mission and impact of Blue Ridge Care

  Process Donations

• Sort incoming donations

• Prepare merchandise for sale

• Ensure quality presentation of store items

Support Volunteers

• Work alongside our amazing volunteers

• Help orient and guide new volunteers

• Promote a safe and positive work environment

Assist with Store Operations

• Open and close the store as scheduled

• Maintain accurate sales and donation records

• Support daily deposits and cash handling procedures

Maintain a Clean, Safe Space

• Help keep the store, offices, and restrooms clean and organized

• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for customers and donors

Work Independently and Take Initiative

• Solve problems proactively

• Support the store's success and mission every day

What We're Looking For

✔ High school diploma or GED preferred

✔ Retail and/or customer service experience preferred

✔ Basic computer skills or willingness to learn

✔ Positive attitude and strong communication skills

✔ Dependable, team-oriented, and self-motivated
