About the Role
New Broadview Manor, part of The W Group, is looking for a warm, reliable Resident Companion to support our residents throughout their day. You’ll help residents get safely to meals, activities, and appointments within the residence, and offer friendly conversation and encouragement along the way. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with older adults and wants to make a real difference in their daily lives.

What You’ll Do

• Escort residents safely to and from dining areas, activities, therapy, and on-site appointments

• Assist residents using walkers, canes, or wheelchairs

• Offer companionship and a friendly, reassuring presence throughout the day

• Encourage residents to participate in meals, programs, and social activities

• Coordinate with nursing, case management, and recreation staff to keep residents on schedule

• Follow all safety and fall-prevention protocols

• Observe and promptly report any changes in a resident’s condition, mood, or behavior to the supervisor or nursing staff

• Treat residents, families, and coworkers with courtesy and respect

• Protect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times

• Complete required trainings and in-services

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in senior care, assisted living, home care, or a healthcare setting preferred, but not required. We will train the right person.

• Patient, kind, and dependable, with a genuine interest in helping others

• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

• Able to stay organized and keep residents on time for scheduled activities

• HHA, PCA, or CNA certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for most of the shift

• Pushing wheelchairs and assisting residents with mobility

• Assisting with lifting or transfers when needed, following proper safety techniques
