Key Responsibilities of the Phlebotomist:

• Follows the facilities policies and procedures and documents the review.

• Demonstrates ability to draw blood on all age groups.

• Troubleshoots problems, documents specimen rejection, prepares send-out specimens and performs billing procedures.

• Explains collection procedures to patients.

• Assists the CLS in the lab by centrifuging, organizing the specimens, placing specimens on the instruments to initiate a test run, making smears, plating micro, maintaining the instruments, and doing inventory.

Qualifications:

• Must have an active Phlebotomy certificate

• Experience working in a labatory

• Compassionate, dependable, and attentive.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
