Job Summary

At Irving Park Living and Rehab, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team. As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving delicious and nutritious meals to our residents and staff. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including entrees, sides, and desserts, in accordance with our residents' dietary needs and preferences

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards

• Follow written and oral instructions concerning food preparation, including meal planning, menu planning, and food storage

• Demonstrate knowledge of food service and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and disposal

• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time throughout the day

• Collaborate with the Food Service Supervisor and Administrator to ensure all meals and snacks are prepared and served in a timely and appetizing manner

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a cook in a food service setting

• Food service and sanitation license and/or certification

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time throughout the day

• Familiarity with seasoning, cooking time required, and characteristics of various cuts of meat, poultry, fish, grains, fruits, and vegetables
