Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Responsibilities

• Provides patient care according to the plan established by the supervising RN and physician’s orders.

• Administers prescribed medications in accordance with New Jersey’s Nurse Practice Act.

• Documents observations, nursing notes, and required information in patient charts.

• Updates care plans as directed and reinforces patient and caregiver education.

• Performs required procedures using universal precautions and safety measures.
