About the Position

As a Swing Cook at Landmark of Lincoln Park, you will play an important role in creating enjoyable dining experiences for our residents. You will help prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner while following established menus, dietary requirements, and providing appropriate meal alternatives based on individual resident needs.

What You’ll Do

·        Prepare nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements.

·        Prepare food in large quantities while maintaining quality, taste, and presentation.

·        Assist with meal preparation and kitchen operations across different shifts as needed.

·        Follow special dietary restrictions and provide appropriate alternatives when necessary.

·        Follow proper food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene practices.

·        Accurately follow verbal and written instructions.

·        Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and food preparation area.

·        Work cooperatively with dietary and healthcare team members to meet residents’ needs.

·        Communicate effectively with coworkers, residents, and others as necessary to perform job responsibilities.

·        Maintain resident confidentiality and respect each individual’s privacy.

·        Demonstrate good judgment, initiative, flexibility, and professionalism in daily activities.

·        Help create a positive, welcoming, and enjoyable dining experience for every resident.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who is dependable, caring, and takes pride in their work. The ideal candidate will have:

·        Previous cooking experience; institutional or healthcare food service experience is a plus.

·        Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and proper hygiene methods.

·        A sincere desire to serve older adults and individuals who may need assistance with daily living.

·        The ability to work respectfully with individuals who have a wide range of personalities, needs, and levels of independence.

·        The ability to follow verbal and written directions accurately.

·        Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

·        A positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing kitchen needs and schedules.
