Wound care is where a skilled nurse can see real healing happen week to week. Brookshire Nursing and Rehabilitation is looking for a part time Registered Nurse (RN) to lead wound care for our residents. You’ll assess, treat, and track wounds, guide our nursing team on prevention, and help residents heal and stay comfortable. If you want focused, meaningful clinical work on a part time schedule, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
Perform weekly wound assessments and measurements, and document wound stage, size, and progress.
Provide wound treatments and dressing changes according to physician orders and best practices.
Develop and update individualized wound care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
Identify residents at risk for pressure injuries using the Braden Scale and put prevention plans in place.
Coordinate with physicians, wound care providers, dietitians, and therapy staff on treatment and nutrition.
Educate nurses and CNAs on pressure injury prevention, turning and repositioning, and skin checks.
Track wound data and support quality reporting, MDS accuracy, and state survey readiness.
Communicate wound status and changes with residents and their families.
