Drive. Organize. Connect. Help a resident’s day go a little easier.

The Gatesworth is a locally owned luxury senior living community in St. Louis, and we’re launching a brand-new Personal Assistant position as an extension of our Personal Care department. While our Personal Care team provides hands-on care, our Personal Assistants support the everyday, non-medical things that help residents stay independent, comfortable, and connected. As the Personal Assistant, you’ll help shape how this program grows.

A day in this role:

You might start by driving a resident to a doctor’s appointment in your own vehicle, then help another set up a video call with her grandchildren. After lunch, you could sort through a closet with someone who’s been meaning to tackle it for years, book salon and dining reservations, or help a resident put up their seasonal and holiday decorations. You might wrap up the day with a game of cards and good conversation. You’ll also welcome new residents and introduce them to the program. No two days look the same, and residents rely on you to make them easier.

What you’ll do:

• Drive residents to appointments, shopping, social events, and religious services.

• Run errands and escort residents.

• Help with calls, correspondence, calendars, and organizing.

• Support residents with phones, tablets, and video calls.

• Book salon, spa, dining, pet care, and activity reservations.

• Help residents with seasonal and holiday decorating.

What you bring:

• A warm, patient personality and excellent customer service skills.

• Experience working with seniors (preferred).

• Strong organization and time management, and you work well independently.

• Able to establish rapport with residents and develop new business.

• Basic computer and smartphone skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Vehicle requirements (please read before applying):

• Personally owned or leased midsize sedan, near-luxury or higher trim.

• Recent model year (typically under 5 to 7 years old).

• Standard ride height, easy for seniors to get in and out of.

• Trunk roomy enough for a folding walker.

• Clean, smoke-free, odor-free interior.

• Valid Driver’s license, registration, and inspection required.

• Auto insurance that meets our business-use limits.

• Acceptable driving record and completion of our driver training.

Good to know:

• $25/hour, plus mileage reimbursement

• Personal Assistants sign a Non-Competition and Non-Solicitation Agreement and may not provide similar private services to Gatesworth residents

• Staff may not accept gratuities
