Physical Therapy Assistant PRN

This position is for a skilled nursing facility and has both short-term and long-term patients. Brookshire Nursing and Rehabilitation is under new ownership and has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads, all new equipment, and an emphasis on optimizing time with patients.

Physical Therapy Assistant Job Responsibilities: 

• Helps residents by providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, psychosocial, and/or developmental impairments under the direction/supervision of a licensed physical therapist. 

• Maintain expected productivity/efficiency set by the Director of Rehab or Administrator. 

• Monitors therapy services to make sure they are performed correctly and provides encouragement when necessary. 

• Maintains patient physical therapy records by recording resident’s progress and daily notes. 

• Generates revenue by recording billing information of services rendered. 

• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following facility policies and procedures. 

• Helps keep therapy equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. 

• Serves and protects the physical therapy practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. 

• Enhances physical therapy practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Current Texas licensure as a PTA is required
