As a Clinical Dietitian, you’ll help patients understand their nutritional needs, develop recommendations that support treatment and recovery, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to make a meaningful difference.

Your Role

• Coordinate and provide nutritional care tailored to each patient’s clinical needs.

• Complete nutritional assessments and recommend appropriate interventions based on clinical status or physician referral.

• Provide practical nutrition education and instructions to patients.

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to support patient care.

• Uphold professional standards of dietetics and nutrition, along with University Health and department policies.

• Build positive relationships with patients, guests, and colleagues.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a related field.

• Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or registration eligibility.

• Registration-eligible candidates must successfully pass the registration examination within 90 days of hire.

• Current Texas dietitian license, or the ability to obtain licensure after passing the registration examination and within 120 days of hire.

Preferred:

• Graduate degree in Nutrition or a related field.

• One to two years of clinical dietitian experience.

• Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish.
