Qualifications of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant:

• Must be a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in New York

• Must have prior experience as a COTA

• Must have experience in long term care

• Must have strong leadership skills

• Strong clinical background and knowledge

Responsibilities of a Occupational Therapist:

• Implements patient-specific treatment plans designed by a registered Occupational Therapist to maximize residents' independence and daily functioning

• Provides and assists with resident/resident rehabilitation care within all general accepted practice methods, meeting all center, state, federal, and accrediting standards.

• Performs necessary clinical documentation to meet center, state, federal, and accrediting agency requirements.
