Make an Impact | Afternoon Behavior Technician

Already have ABA experience and looking for an afternoon case close to home?

One Step Forward is looking for a dependable Behavior Technician to provide one on one ABA therapy for a child in West New York, North Bergen, Guttenberg, NJ and surrounding areas.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with children, wants a consistent after school schedule, and values having clinical support while working independently.

Pay: $22–$32 per hour based on experience

Your Role

You'll work directly with a child with autism, helping develop important skills through structured activities, play, and everyday routines.

Sessions follow an individualized treatment plan developed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing individualized ABA programs

• Teaching communication, social, and daily living skills

• Supporting positive behavior and teaching replacement skills

• Using reinforcement and prompting strategies

• Helping the child practice and maintain learned skills

• Collecting accurate session data

• Completing electronic session notes

• Communicating with your supervising BCBA about progress and challenges

An Afternoon Schedule That Works

We are hiring for an ongoing weekday after school and early evening opportunity.

This position is a good fit for someone looking for consistent part time hours and the opportunity to work with the same client regularly.

Clinical Guidance and Support

You'll receive ongoing BCBA supervision, feedback, and guidance throughout your case.

Our administrative team is also available to assist with scheduling and other nonclinical needs.

Qualifications

• Previous ABA experience required

• Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities

• Experience as a Behavior Technician, ABA Therapist, RBT, paraprofessional, special education aide, or in a similar role

• Ability to follow treatment plans and complete accurate documentation

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Dependability and consistent availability

• Reliable transportation to the client's home
