Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Teacher to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children after school. This role requires someone who is passionate about working with children, committed to their well-being, and able to facilitate activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development. The ideal candidate should be dependable, patient, and enthusiastic, with a love for fostering positive relationships with children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and Ensure Safety: Monitor children closely, ensuring their safety and well-being during aftercare hours.

• Facilitate Activities: Plan and lead fun, educational, and creative activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and homework assistance.

• Assist with Homework: Provide support and guidance as needed to help children with their homework assignments.

• Maintain a Positive Environment: Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive atmosphere where children feel valued and comfortable.

• Communicate with Parents: Update parents on their child's day, behavior, and any important concerns or achievements.

• Collaborate with Staff: Work with other aftercare teachers and school staff to ensure a consistent and cohesive aftercare experience for all children.

• Enforce Rules and Expectations: Help children understand and follow the rules, ensuring that all children behave in a respectful and appropriate manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience working with children in a school or aftercare setting preferred.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage children effectively.

• A reliable, punctual, and responsible attitude.

• Passion for working with children and helping them thrive.

• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
