Dietary - Cook-Aide

You will get the opportunity to learn both sides of the cook line.

In Long Term Care the Dietary department is as important of a role as the care we give. The meals we serve and the snacks we create are ingredients to the joy and satisfaction of our building. This role requires attention to detail, imagination, eagerness to try something new, care for the details that can affect a resident's life and health. This position is on your feet for 12 hour shifts, and it is fast-paced.

In this role you will be able to work as the Dietary Aide:

Serving meals to residents and performs sanitation duties in work areas. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food, cleaning equipment utilized in the kitchen/dining areas, and cleaning the food service area while assuring resident safety. Work is performed under the supervision of a Kitchen Manager and Cook.

You will also be cross-trained as the Cook, which duties include, but are not limited to:

• Quality check ingredients and prepared products to be used during service

• Follow recipes accurately

• Prepare food using various appliances and equipment

• Maintain a clean, safe and sanitized work area

• Organize equipment, utensils and other tools prior to service

• Participate in the garnishing and presentation of dishes

• Oversee opening and closing duties for each assigned shift

• Clean and sanitize work areas
