Administrator-In-Training (AIT)
Accolade Healthcare is seeking a motivated and emerging healthcare leader to join our Administrator-In-Training (AIT) program.
This is more than an entry-level management position. Our AIT program is designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, progressive leadership responsibility, and exposure to the many operational, clinical, regulatory, financial, and workforce challenges involved in leading a skilled nursing facility.
Over an anticipated 6-12 month development period, the AIT will work closely with experienced facility leaders while gaining exposure to the full scope of long-term care operations. This includes opportunities to experience:
Facility operations and department leadership
Resident care, quality assurance and QAPI
IDPH, CMS and regulatory compliance and survey readiness
Staffing, recruitment, employee relations and workforce management
Budgeting, financial operations and expense management
Census, admissions and business development
Resident and family relations
Performance improvement initiatives
Leadership development and decision-making
Crisis management and problem-solving
Staff and department manager development
The AIT will also have opportunities for cross-facility training and mentorship, working with different Administrators and leadership teams. This experience is intended to broaden the AIT's perspective, strengthen adaptability, and provide exposure to different leadership styles and operational environments.
We believe that becoming a successful Administrator requires more than learning policies and procedures—it requires experiencing the realities of healthcare leadership over time. Our goal is to provide the AIT with the opportunity to learn from successes, challenges, changing staffing needs, financial pressures, regulatory experiences, and the everyday decisions that shape a successful facility.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
Has a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field
Has a strong interest in pursuing a career in long-term care administration
Demonstrates leadership potential and strong interpersonal skills
Communicates effectively with residents, families, employees and leaders
Demonstrates sound judgment, accountability and problem-solving ability
Is adaptable, receptive to feedback and eager to learn
Can work effectively with individuals across all levels of an organization
Is comfortable taking on increasing responsibility as competencies are demonstrated
Has knowledge of long-term care operations or a strong desire to learn the industry
Training & Travel Requirement
Because development occurs through both facility-based and cross-facility experiences, the AIT must be willing and able to travel to other Accolade Healthcare facilities for training, mentorship, leadership development and program assignments. The AIT must be comfortable learning under different Administrators and adapting to different leadership styles and operational environments.
