Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity

• Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems

• Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks like catheter care, wound care, or medication administration under supervision

• Maintain a safe environment by practicing proper manual handling techniques and utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts for patient transfers

• Document patient information thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with diverse populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, and those requiring memory or hospice care

• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as PCC for accurate documentation of patient care activities

• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs assessment, and basic anatomy to support clinical tasks confidently

• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices during patient transfers or equipment handling

• Strong caregiver communication skills to effectively interact with patients experiencing complex conditions

Florida Background Screening Requirement:
