Duties

Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences

Serve meals with professionalism, ensuring adherence to dietary restrictions and special requirements

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas following food safety standards

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, dishwashers, and food handling tools

Support meal delivery, bussing tables, and cleaning duties to uphold sanitation standards and promote a safe environment

Adhere to manual handling protocols during heavy lifting or movement of supplies and equipment

Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure food safety compliance

Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs

Implement workplace safety practices consistently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable

Knowledge of food production, meal preparation, and sanitation procedures

Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work with geriatric patients while respecting their unique dietary needs and restrictions

Basic math skills for portioning and inventory tasks

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, respectful approach toward residents and team members

Commitment to workplace safety practices including manual handling techniques and PPE use
