Job Title: Housekeeping/Laundry Aide 

Location:  Columbus NE

Department: Housekeeping 

Reports to: Maintenance Director

Position Type: Full Time Days with every other weekend

Job Summary:

We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and team-oriented Housekeeping Aide to join our Housekeeping department. As a Housekeeping Aide, you'll be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and laundry services. Your attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to resident satisfaction will make a significant impact on our team's overall performance.

Responsibilities:

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas according to schedule and procedures

• Dust, mop, vacuum, and sanitize surfaces as assigned

• Collect and launder linens, towels, and residents' personal clothing

• Fold, sort, and distribute clean laundry to proper locations

• Label resident cloths as applicable

• Operate laundry and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently

• Follow proper infection control and isolation cleaning procedures

• Report needed repairs or maintenance issues to supervisor

• Maintain housekeeping cart and storage areas in a clean, organized manner

• Provide respectful and courteous service to residents and staff

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred, especially in healthcare

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of equipment

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

• Positive attitude and commitment to resident satisfaction

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Physical/Emotional/Mental Demands:

• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Frequently lifting up to 10-25 lbs.

• Use of hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation

• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Exposure to hazardous chemicals such as disinfectants, cleaners, soap, etc.

• Occasional exposure to blood/body fluids as required providing resident care

• Occasional exposure to microbial bacteria and other infectious agents inherent to care for older adults
