Firefly Home Care is seeking a strong, hands-on Area Manager to lead home care operations within an assigned service area. As a leader in the healthcare industry, we pride ourselves on providing in-home caregiving and support services to help individuals remain safe and independent in the comfort of their own homes.

About the Role

As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of caregivers, supporting clients and families, managing staffing and scheduling, addressing employee performance, solving operational problems, and taking ownership of the overall success of your area. This is a true management position that requires a hands-on approach, strong communication skills, and a customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop your team, providing direct leadership to caregivers and assigned employees

• Manage scheduling and staffing, ensuring client shifts are appropriately staffed and addressing attendance and performance concerns

• Deliver an exceptional client experience, building relationships with clients and families, and coordinating services and communication

• Build a strong caregiving workforce, participating in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring caregivers, and supporting onboarding, skills validation, and training

• Take ownership and follow through on client needs, addressing complaints and service concerns, and identifying clients at risk for dissatisfaction or discharge

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Comfort addressing employee performance concerns

• Solid computer and administrative skills

• Strong customer-service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Home care or healthcare administrative experience

• Experience managing frontline or field-based employees

• Previous management experience

• Experience with scheduling, staffing, or employee relations

• Education or credentials in healthcare, social work, gerontology, business, or a related field
