VP of Human Resources and Payroll – Skilled Nursing | Salt Lake City, UT
A growing skilled nursing operator is building something, and we need an HR leader to build it with us. We operate multiple facilities in Texas with more on the way, and our HR function needs a strategic, hands-on leader in Salt Lake City. This role is for someone who wants to shape the people strategy of a company while it’s still taking shape, not maintain one that’s already finished.
What You’ll Do
Lead all HR functions across the organization, including payroll, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and compliance.
Build scalable HR infrastructure, such as policies, processes, and systems, that can support new facility acquisitions and openings.
Partner with executive leadership and facility Administrators on workforce planning, retention strategy, and organizational design.
Drive recruiting and retention for hard-to-fill clinical roles (RNs, LVNs, CNAs) in competitive Texas labor markets.
Ensure compliance with federal and Texas employment law, CMS requirements, and state survey standards related to staffing and personnel files.
Lead HR integration when new facilities join the portfolio.
Develop leadership training, performance management, and culture initiatives that reduce turnover at the facility level.
Oversee investigations, sensitive employee relations matters, and risk mitigation.
Use HR data on turnover, time-to-fill, agency usage, and labor costs to guide decisions and report to leadership.
Why Work Here
Real impact: You’ll build the HR function at a growing company, not inherit a bureaucracy.
Growth trajectory: As we expand, your team and scope expand too.
Executive seat: You’ll work directly with ownership and senior leadership and have a voice in company direction.
