Silver Memories Health Care is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist / Wound Nurse RN/LPN to join our skilled nursing team in Versailles, IN.

This position is responsible for infection prevention and control, wound management, monitoring, education, investigation, and reporting while supporting high-quality, resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the facility’s Infection Preventionist and Wound Nurse

• Monitor, investigate, prevent, and report infections and communicable diseases

• Develop and maintain infection prevention and control practices and procedures

• Conduct infection surveillance and maintain required documentation and reports

• Provide orientation and ongoing infection prevention education to employees

• Plan and schedule required in-service education and training

• Maintain the master training planner and training records

• Ensure required in-services are completed annually

• Assess, monitor, and manage resident wounds according to physician orders and facility protocols

• Complete wound assessments and maintain accurate wound documentation

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, and interdisciplinary team members regarding wound care and infection prevention

• Monitor wound progress and identify changes requiring additional intervention

• Promote compliance with CDC, state, and federal infection prevention guidelines

• Support staff with education related to wound care, infection prevention, and proper clinical practices

Qualifications

• Active Indiana RN or LPN license required

• Wound care experience preferred

• Infection Prevention experience preferred

• Supervisory nursing experience, preferably in long-term care/skilled nursing

• Knowledge of infection prevention principles and public health practices

• Knowledge and experience with wound assessment and treatment

• CDC infection prevention coursework preferred/required as applicable

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
