Skilled Nursing of Far Rockaway is hiring a Recreation Director to lead resident life at our modern, beautifully maintained skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. The Recreation Director shapes the daily experience of our residents in a warm, family-like community backed by a strong, well-established skilled nursing organization. As Recreation Director, you'll have the resources and leadership support to build a program residents look forward to every day. At least 3 years of Recreation Director experience in a nursing home is required for the Recreation Director position.

Recreation Director Duties

• Plan, schedule, and lead a full calendar of recreation and activity programs for residents

• Complete recreation assessments and care plan documentation, including Minimum Data Set (MDS) requirements

• Supervise, schedule, and train the recreation and activities staff

• Partner with nursing, social services, and families to meet each resident's interests and needs

• Keep the recreation program compliant with New York State and federal regulations

Recreation Director Compensation and Schedule

• Pay: $65,000–$75,000 per year

Recreation Director Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Recreation Director or Activities Director

• Director experience must be in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) / long-term care (LTC) setting. Nursing home director experience is required.
