Assistant Director of Adult Day Care Center Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Adult Day Care Center provides leadership and oversight of the center’s daily operations, programs, staff and participant services.  This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, welcoming and engaging environment while maintaining high standards of service, regulatory compliance and quality assurance.  The Assistant Director reports to Director of Adult Day Services. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Director, staff, participants, families, healthcare providers and community partners to support participant well-being and strengthen the center’s role within the community,

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day operation of the Adult Day Center, ensuring services are delivered effectively and consistently.

• Plan, coordinate and accompany participants on community outings, ensuring activities are safe, accessible, engaging and align with participant interests and needs.

• Oversee staffing levels, scheduling and daily coverage to ensure operational and participant needs are met.

• Create a safe, respectful, inclusive and participant-centered environment for participants, families, visitors and staff.

• Develop and maintain a monthly calendar that provides a variety of engaging, meaningful activities.

• Develop, implement and evaluate programs and activities that support the physical, emotional, cognitive and social well-being of participants.

• Communicate and work closely with the Director of Adult Day Services to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations, licensing requirements, health and safety standards and organizational policies.

• Maintain participant records and chart appropriately.
