Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport Rental Car Account Manager

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Account Manager to join our management team at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA). If you have strong business acumen, leadership skills, and experience managing teams and day-to-day operations, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Position Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations at the airport location, ensuring safety, productivity, service quality, and profitability goals are met.

• Manage and support Vehicle Service Agents (VSAs) responsible for cleaning and preparing rental vehicles.

• Monitor cleaning and driving operations to ensure employees meet company and customer standards.

• Partner closely with Corporate Recruiting and Human Resources to maintain staffing levels and fulfill employee requirements.

• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, retention, and employee development.

• Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Ensure productivity standards and performance benchmarks are consistently met.

• Develop and manage workforce planning, scheduling, and forecasting.

• Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and employee performance.

• Complete required paperwork, reports, and documentation related to productivity and operations.

• Coach, mentor, and develop employees to promote a positive and productive team environment.

• Address employee performance issues through appropriate coaching and progressive discipline when necessary.

• Cover open VSA/driver shifts as needed to meet customer staffing and service requirements.

• Help monitor and control operational losses related to workers’ compensation, general liability, and other risk areas.

• Maintain strong communication with airport and rental car partners to ensure customer satisfaction and service expectations are met.

Qualifications & Skills

• At least 2 years of progressive leadership or management experience in a team or operations environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee retention, performance management, progressive discipline, and termination processes.

• Experience with scheduling, workforce planning, timekeeping, and productivity management.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced airport and rental car environment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience with workers’ compensation, general liability, safety, and loss control is highly desired.

• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus but not required.

• Must be comfortable working alongside employees who work outdoors and remain active throughout their shifts.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Clean driving record required.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including day and night shifts as needed.

• Must be available to work weekends as required by business needs.

• Ability to commute to Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.
