Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate MDS Nurse to join our team at Serenity Estates of Daytona Beach. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents by coordinating the facility's Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, completing accurate MDS assessments, and implementing comprehensive plans of care.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the facility's RAI process in accordance with state and federal regulations

• Complete accurate MDS assessments and supporting documentation

• Implement and evaluate each resident's comprehensive plan of care

• Schedule and lead interdisciplinary care plan team meetings

• Audit medical records for supporting documentation

• Collaborate with health plans, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team for insurance approvals and coverage criteria

• Interpret rules, regulations, and coverage guidelines

• Utilize the current RAI Manual as a resource during the assessment coding process

• Communicate with the interdisciplinary team for timely completion of assessments

• Report any issues with timeliness to the Administrator

• Participate in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings

• Report work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor

Requirements:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a registered nurse in this state

• Must have 3 years' experience as a registered nurse, one of which includes supervisory experience

• Experience with MDS completion preferred

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to, and be an example of teamwork

• Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary

• Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations
