A long-term care facility is hiring a Full-Time Director Of Environmental Services in the Albany, NY area.
Lead the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services and Maintenance Department to keep the facility clean, safe, and fully operational.
Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance procedures that meet company policies, OSHA guidelines, and industry standards.
Create staff schedules and assign daily work, including preventive maintenance tasks and work orders, to ensure all areas of the facility are properly maintained.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate EVS and maintenance team members to promote high performance and accountability.
Perform routine inspections of the facility and its HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/sprinkler systems to ensure quality and safety standards are consistently met.
Troubleshoot and complete repairs on building systems within scope, and coordinate outside contractors for specialized or licensed work.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for cleaning supplies, maintenance parts, and equipment, placing orders as needed.
Work closely with department leaders to support facility operations, and keep current with best practices and regulatory requirements for environmental services, maintenance, and life safety.
Qualifications
Previous supervisory or management experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, or a related field.
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/sprinkler systems, with hands-on troubleshooting and basic repair experience.
Strong understanding of commercial cleaning methods, OSHA regulations, infection control, and safety practices, including lockout/tagout.
Experience with hard floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and maintaining floors.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail. Experience in a healthcare, rehabilitation, hospital, or long-term care setting is strongly preferred.
