Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Licensed Psychologist to conduct comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents in Colorado. As an independent contractor with Total Care ABA, you will have the flexibility to work on a part-time basis with administrative support to help families obtain timely, clinically sound evaluations while maintaining complete independence over all diagnostic decisions and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents

  • Review developmental, medical, educational, psychological, and therapy records

  • Complete caregiver interviews and direct clinical observations

  • Select and administer standardized autism, developmental, cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral measures as clinically appropriate

  • Assess current diagnostic criteria and consider relevant differential and co-occurring diagnoses

  • Prepare clear, comprehensive reports that include test results, clinical interpretation, diagnostic conclusions, appropriate diagnostic codes, functional impact, and individualized recommendations

  • Conduct feedback sessions with parents or guardians

  • Complete reports within the organization’s established turnaround expectations

  • Respond promptly to reasonable payer or clinical requests for clarification

  • Provide services through telehealth or in person according to clinical, testing, licensing, and payer requirements

  • Exercise independent clinical judgment

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in clinical, counseling, school, pediatric, or a closely related area of psychology

  • Active, unrestricted Colorado psychologist license by the start date

  • Individual National Provider Identifier

  • Professional liability insurance

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Training and documented competency using evidence-based autism-assessment methods and standardized diagnostic instruments

  • Knowledge of current diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, and common co-occurring developmental or behavioral conditions

  • Ability to produce thorough, signed, payer-ready psychological reports

  • Strong family communication, documentation, and time-management skills

  • Ability to satisfy applicable background-check, privacy, and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training and demonstrated competency with widely accepted autism diagnostic instruments

  • Experience administering autism-specific, developmental, adaptive-behavior, cognitive, and behavioral assessments

  • Experience evaluating children across different ages, verbal abilities, cultures, and levels of support need

  • Existing provider credentialing profile and experience with commercial insurance credentialing

  • Current enrollment with Health First Colorado or willingness to complete applicable enrollment

  • Ability to offer limited in-person evaluation appointments in Colorado

  • Access to required testing instruments, scoring platforms, and secure telehealth technology

  • Spanish-language evaluation capability is highly desirable

Schedule and Caseload:

  • Flexible, part-time contract opportunity

  • Initial caseload will be based on family demand and evaluator availability

  • Scheduling can be coordinated around the psychologist’s existing practice

  • Opportunities for additional evaluations may become available as the program grows

  • No minimum caseload is guaranteed

Compensation:

  • Competitive contract compensation based on the required assessment battery, case complexity, delivery method, testing resources provided, and the psychologist’s qualifications

  • Expanded testing, approved travel, or unusually complex evaluations may be compensated separately under the final written agreement

Administrative Support:

  • Total Care ABA can assist with family intake, scheduling, collection of available records, insurance-information collection, and coordination of completed reports

  • The psychologist remains solely responsible for clinical decision-making, test selection, diagnosis, and recommendations

How to Apply:

If you are a licensed psychologist with a passion for helping children and families, please submit your resume, Colorado license information, a summary of pediatric autism-assessment experience, the assessment instruments you use, your typical report-turnaround time, your availability, and information about your current payer participation.
