What You’ll Do

· Clean floors by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, wet mopping, and disinfecting
· Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, and heating/cooling units
· Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
· Clean windows, mirrors, walls, and ceilings as assigned
· Deodorize, disinfect, and spot-clean carpets and upholstered surfaces
· Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas
· Refill soap, paper towel, toilet tissue, and hygiene dispensers
· Clean offices, hallways, stairways, elevators, and entrance areas
· Clean and prepare vacant rooms for new admissions
· Follow established cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
· Maintain equipment in good working condition and report hazardous conditions promptly
· Properly clean and store equipment at the end of each shift
· Inform supervisors of supply needs and inventory shortages
· Replace burned-out light bulbs in assigned work areas as needed
· Cross-train in laundry services when required
· Attend departmental meetings and in-service training sessions
· Practice safe work habits at all times
· Maintain confidentiality of resident information and protect resident rights
· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Previous housekeeping experience preferred
· Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus
· Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and infection control procedures
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
· Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and reaching required
· Ability to move furniture and equipment as needed
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
· Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and carts
