Alumni Coordinator - 1st shift Full time

Position Summary

Strive Recovery is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and relationship-driven Alumni Coordinator to build and lead our alumni program. We are looking for someone who understands that recovery does not end at discharge.

The right person will enjoy building relationships, bringing people together, checking in consistently, celebrating progress, and helping alumni stay connected to a strong recovery community. Success in this role means creating an alumni experience where former clients continue to feel supported, connected, and proud to remain part of the Strive Recovery community.

This person will develop meaningful relationships with clients while they are in treatment and maintain those relationships after discharge. The goal is to keep alumni connected to Strive, the recovery community, and the people, services, and resources that support long-term sobriety. The ideal candidate is highly engaging, organized, assertive, customer service oriented, and passionate about helping individuals succeed in recovery.

Job Responsibilities

·       Build trusted relationships with clients before discharge and introduce them to the Strive Recovery alumni community.

·       Maintain regular contact with alumni through structured check-ins, outreach, and ongoing engagement.

·       Serve as a first point of contact for alumni who are struggling and help connect them with appropriate recovery resources.

·       Assist alumni with connecting to meetings, sober support networks, and potential sponsors.

·       Plan, coordinate, and lead meaningful alumni events and activities, including:

o   Coffee socials

o   Alumni dinners

o   Recovery milestone celebrations

o   Sober recreational activities

o   Community outings

o   Fitness and wellness activities

o   Volunteer opportunities

o   Recovery meetings and speaker events

·       Create and maintain a consistent alumni event calendar.

·       Develop relationships with community partners to expand resources and programming.

·       Recognize and celebrate alumni recovery milestones and accomplishments, with appropriate consent.

·       Encourage successful alumni to remain involved and support others in recovery.

·       Manage the alumni program budget and track event-related expenses.

·       Maintain organized records of alumni outreach, participation, and engagement.

·       Travel locally for alumni events, community partnerships, and outreach.

·       Maintain strong professional boundaries while developing genuine and supportive relationships.

·       Recognize when an alumnus needs additional clinical or professional support and follow appropriate escalation procedures.

Qualifications

·       Previous professional experience working in a substance use disorder treatment or recovery center is required.

·       Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in recovery services, behavioral health, alumni programming, peer support, community outreach, or a related role.

·       Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

·       Ability to develop trust and rapport with individuals in recovery.

·       Strong event planning and coordination skills.

·       Highly organized with consistent follow-through.

·       Assertive, dependable, and comfortable initiating outreach.

·       Strong customer service orientation.

·       Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

·       Experience developing community partnerships preferred.

·       Ability to manage a program calendar and budget.

·       Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.

·       Ability to work some evenings and weekends based on alumni events and programming needs.

·       Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, human services, communications, or a related field preferred.
