Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Skilled Nursing Facility Activities Director to join our team at Palms Care Center, a renowned provider of sub-acute medical care, rehabilitation services, and 24-hour skilled nursing care. As an Activities Director, you will play a vital role in creating a warm and engaging environment for our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive activities program that caters to the diverse interests and needs of our residents, incorporating music, art, exercise, and socialization activities

• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff to integrate activities into individualized treatment plans, enhancing resident outcomes and overall quality of life

• Coordinate and facilitate community events, outings, and celebrations, fostering a sense of community and promoting social interaction among residents

• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities, enhancing resident engagement and socialization

• Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and entertainment providers to bring in outside programming and resources

• Conduct regular assessments of resident engagement and satisfaction, making adjustments to the activities program as needed

• Maintain accurate records of activities, including attendance, participation, and evaluations

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Activities Director in a long-term care or healthcare setting

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field

• Strong knowledge of adult development, assessment, and programming principles

• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff across multiple disciplines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMRs)
