About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Activity Director to join our team at Onyx Care of Farmerville, a post-acute rehabilitation center dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Activity Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating recreational and therapeutic activities to promote physical, emotional, and social well-being among our patients. We are seeking someone who is organized, enthusiastic, dependable, and able to think outside the box to develop activities that meet the interests and abilities of each resident.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a diverse range of activities, including, but not limited to, group games, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities, to cater to the interests and needs of our patients

• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for patients

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, therapy, and dietary staff, to develop individualized care plans and ensure patient participation in activities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient preferences and abilities, and modify activities accordingly

• Maintain accurate records and reports of patient activities, participation, and outcomes

• Provide education and training to patients, families, and staff on activities, leisure, and relaxation techniques

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in activity direction, and implement new ideas and strategies to enhance our program

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 years of experience in activity direction or a related field

• The ideal candidate will enjoy working with seniors and have a passion for creating meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable experiences for our residents.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff

• Ability to develop and implement activities that cater to diverse patient populations

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities and responsibilities
