Parttime Life Skills Coach DSP

Looking for meaningful parttime work where you can be a mentor, coach, and positive influence? Kindly Direct Care is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Atlantic City, NJ, to work one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities.

This can be a great fit for a college student, educator, human-services professional, caregiver, or someone looking for meaningful part-time work. Consistency matters: although the hours may be limited, the individual and family rely on the DSP to keep the agreed schedule. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping another person build confidence, routines, social skills, community connections, and greater independence. The strongest candidate will be consistent, encouraging, active, and able to build trust over time. 

You May Spend Your Shift 

• Participating in community outings and recreational activities with the individual, such as going out to eat, playing video games, running errands, and exploring other activities based on his interests.

• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills. 

• Helping establish positive routines and work toward individualized goals. 

• Modeling problem-solving, appropriate communication, and healthy community participation. 

• Supporting decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence. 

• Providing companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship. 

• Maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions. 

• Completing required documentation and staying in close communication with the Kindly team. 

Qualifications 

• Dependable, engaging, patient, and able to build rapport. 

• Experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, human services, disability support, or caregiving is a plus. 

• Able to commit reliably to Tues & Fri 7:30am-11:30am. 

• Driving required. 

• Able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training. 

Schedule: Tues & fri 7:30am-11:30am 
Pay: $17-$22/hour
Location: Atlantic City, NJ
Driving on shift: Required
