Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Naples Health and Rehab, a leading provider of healthcare services in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a PTA, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care in our skilled nursing facility, helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for geriatrics, orthopedics, and post-surgical cases

• Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and modalities to promote healing and mobility

• Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper usage and maintenance

• Document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards and medical terminology guidelines

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and record findings in electronic health records (EHR), supporting effective discharge planning and ongoing treatment adjustments

• Support patient care activities across multiple settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, home health visits, and acute care environments

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that address individual patient needs and goals

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice

• Proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation practices to ensure compliance with healthcare standards

• Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities to alleviate pain and improve function

• Experience operating medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments with safety and precision

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management for efficient documentation and communication

• Inpatient experience with skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings is highly desirable

• Knowledge of discharge planning processes to facilitate smooth transitions for patients returning home or to other care environments

• Outpatient clinic experience in orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or general physiotherapy is preferred
