Housekeeper/Porter

The Housekeeper / Porter ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the facility. This dual-function role combines detailed interior cleaning and sanitization with ongoing floor-wide upkeep, heavy lifting, and quick response to maintenance and spill requests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sanitation & Housekeeping: Clean, dust, and sanitize assigned rooms, offices, restrooms, and resident/patient areas according to daily checklists.

• Common Area Maintenance: Patrol lobbies, hallways, entrances, and grounds to keep high-traffic zones tidy, clear, and free of trash.

• Waste & Materials Handling: Empty trash and biohazard receptacles, transport soiled linens, and restock sanitation supplies throughout the shift.

• Floor & Heavy Care: Sweep, mop, and assist with floor maintenance (buffing/scrubbing) as needed; respond promptly to spills and urgent cleanup requests.

• Logistics & Setup: Assist with moving furniture, setting up rooms for events/admissions, and keeping service closets organized and stocked.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1+ years of housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services (EVS) experience preferred (healthcare or commercial facility experience a plus).

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and push heavy cleaning carts or equipment for extended periods.

• Skills: Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and good communication skills.
